and heavy rainfall, lightnings turn it all in white,
that raises leaves from last fall,
summer winds overnight.
I hadn’t seen these wonders,
been blind for all these things,
the evening breeze in your hair
would tell you I’ve known the wind.
of music coming nearer, music boxes play along,
laughing, shouting, crying,
silence and no more song.
I hadn’t heard those noises,
been deaf for all those sounds.
a word spoken from your lip
me I have heard it all.
ribbons, sparkling colors, decorating rooms and halls,
of dawn with grayish morning light,
before the alarm clock calls.
I had never witnessed these things,
to describe what’s it about,
my eyes over your head,
would tell you I’ve seen it all.
failing, reconciling, knowing that there isn’t more but less,
up and making amends,
of joy and drunkenness.
I had never known these emotions,
have never felt happy or blue,
to feel your heartbeat in sync with mine,
me, I have lived my life.
